Ministry of Agriculture, Diseases prevention control Directorate in Collaboration with Livestock and fisheries Sectors Development / LFSDP/ Project Training on Newcastle Disease prevention Control is going on in Bushofitu town starting from 13- 14 /01 /2020 .
The Workshop Covers the over view of current status and challenges of Newcastle diseases in Ethiopia, the challenges and Prospective of New castle disease in Amhara ,oromia,, SNNP, Tigray regional States ,The Newcastle disease Vaccines and Situation of terms stable and the Experience sharing of the three African country Such as Mozambique , Tanzania, and Nigeria community based Newcastle disease Control Experience sharing. The livestock and Fishery Sector Development National Coordinator Thomas Cherent (PhD) Opening remark for Consultative workshop to Design Sustainable community based Newcastle disease vaccination program for village poultry in Ethiopia said that the Village poultry sector in Ethiopia is seriously constrained by the continued presence of several diseases which limit productivity and access to market, The Newcastle disease is devastating diseases of both Commercial farms and village chickens production system of Ethiopia .Village chickens may serve as reservoir to disseminate the virus to the commercial farms .There ,controlling Newcastle disease and reducing mortality of village of Chickens due to virulent Newcastle disease is major step forwards to improve their productivity and to prevent minimize the risk of dissemination to commercial farms . New castle diseases is one of the priority disease identified by LFSDP project of ministry more over there are several development partners engaged on poultry sector and most express their the challenges in dealing with poultry particularly New castle disease
